The Turia Gardens, also known colloquially as “the river”, are the main lung of the city of Valencia.
They are located in the old bed of the Turia River, hence its popular name, and run through the interior of the city until almost reaching the sea.
Currently, the gardens have a length of approximately 10 kilometers, which have become a true paradise for runners, since a special lane has recently been designed for fans of this sport.
Furthermore, in these gardens you can find some of the most innovative architectural monuments in Valencia, such as the City of Arts and Sciences.
Two of the parks that are located in the same Valencia center and which, due to their proximity, are not usually mentioned separately, are the Glorieta and the Parterre.
They are located very close to the old town of the city and are the perfect place where local residents go to enjoy quiet afternoons outdoors or rest after an afternoon of shopping in the shops in the center of Valencia.
In the Parterre, you can see the statue of James I, the Conqueror. In ancient times, it was one of the largest and most significant parks in the city; although, currently, only one of its four ponds remains.
On the other hand, in the Glorieta you can find some of the ancient trees oldest in the city and which have become an icon of the park.
The Real gardens, known by the nickname nursery garden, are an urban public park located very close to the Turia gardens.
There was a beautiful palace surrounded by orange and lemon trees that, over time, even housed the city's Agricultural School.
The Real gardens are located right in front of our school in Valencia and are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoor space.
Don't miss the duck and swan pond, the Museum of Natural Sciences of Valencia, the House of the Senior Gardener or, in spring, the beautiful rose garden!
A small park hidden in one of the residential areas near some university campuses is the Monforte Gardens, whose origin dates back to some orchards near the extramural area.
In the park you can see more than thirty marble statues, as well as a pond with water lily flowers, turtles and fish.
It is one of the most beautiful gardens in Valencia and that usually appear in photographic reports or paintings of the city.
