Today, I want to talk to you about the book of Luis Sepulveda “Story of a seagull and the cat that taught him to fly”.
The author defines it as a novel foryoung people from 8 to 88 years old!
The protagonist of this story is Zorbas, a “big, black, fat” cat who has a great sense of loyalty and honor. For this reason, he agrees to raise a poor seagull, Lucky, who has lost her mother due to a great wave of oil.
Although the protagonists are animals, this is not just a story for children, as the subtitle already warned. It has a very important message that we should all hear:
The value of friendship
The hope that with love everything is possible
The consequences of pollution
The importance of having good values
The need to help those who need it
But I suppose you are already eager to know how it is possible for a cat to teach a seagull to fly. Read the following fragment of the novel and you will discover it:
